Preparation
Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes in casserole
Serves: 10
Ingredients:
- 1/4 Cup butter
- 1/2 Cup each diced celery, onion, carrots
- 1/2 Cup chopped pecans and dried cranberries
- 1 16oz. bag stuffing mix (any flavor)
- 3 Cups chicken broth, heated
- 1 Package Boursin® Apple, Cranberry and Cinnamon
Instructions:
- Melt butter in large non-stick skillet. Add celery, onion and carrots; cook for 7 to 8 minutes or until vegetables are softened. Stir in chopped pecans and cranberries; cook another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Empty bag of stuffing mix into large bowl; add cooked vegetable mixture and gently stir in warm chicken broth. Crumble Boursin into stuffing mixture; stirring gently just until combined, being careful not to break up bread too much. Use to stuff turkey or large chicken.
- Stuffing can also be baked separately in a buttered, shallow baking dish at 375°. While baking, cover for 20 minutes then uncover for the remainder of the cooking time.
Tip: Chopped dried apricots, apples or cherries are also good dried fruit alternatives.
For a decadent and incredibly moist turkey add Boursin cheese under the skin of your bird.
Gently ease skin away from turkey meat, and with a small spatula spread the Boursin evenly under the skin and over the breast. For large turkeys (16-20 lbs.) use two packages of your favorite flavor of Boursin; for smaller birds (12-14 lbs.) use one package.
